Position Overview

Hurricane Capital is seeking an experienced and driven Director of Portfolio Finance & Non-Market Risk to join its platform team in New York City. This individual will play a key leadership role overseeing the firm’s financing infrastructure, managing non-market risk, supporting global regulatory expansion, and coordinating operational buildout for Hurricane Advisor Solutions.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in hedge fund financing, cross-border regulatory matters, and platform coordination, and is eager to contribute in a high-impact, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Finance:

• Help lead financing strategy and optimization across prime brokers, custodians, and ISDA counterparties.
• Manage firm-wide leverage, margin, financing rates, and liquidity metrics across managers and strategies.
• Oversee onboarding and maintenance of trading relationships, including documentation (ISDA, PBAs, GMRA).
• Support portfolio managers with trade financing analysis and capital efficiency planning.
• Coordinate with Treasury and Operations on daily funding and collateral optimization workflows.

Non-Market Risk & Regulatory Buildout:

• Develop and enhance frameworks for operational, legal, regulatory, and counterparty risk.
• Act as a key contributor in helping Hurricane establish regulated operations across multiple jurisdictions
• Coordinate with legal counsel and compliance on filings, registrations, and licensing efforts.
• Track global regulatory obligations and ensure firm readiness for jurisdictional compliance.

Advisor Platform & Infrastructure Coordination:

• Serve as a liaison between Hurricane Advisor Solutions and internal/external stakeholders.
• Project manage onboarding and infrastructure support for advisor relationships across custody, fund structuring, and managed account solutions.
• Drive cross-functional efforts to scale Hurricane’s advisor-facing capabilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in portfolio finance, treasury, operations, or risk at a hedge fund, multi-manager platform, or prime broker.
• Strong command of hedge fund financing mechanics and documentation (ISDA, GMRA, PB agreements).
• Familiarity with regulatory structures across regions.
• Proven ability to coordinate across legal, compliance, operations, and investment teams.
• Highly organized with excellent project management and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, JD, CAIA) preferred.

Compensation

• Competitive base salary, performance-based bonus, and benefits package.
• $150,000 – $180,000 – Dependent on experience and qualifications
